Cyber Risk Aware gain Digital Security Provider accreditation

Cyber Risk Aware Gains PDSC Accreditation

6 January 2021 Cyber Risk Aware is the latest organisation to be recognised as a Digital Security Provider by the Police Digital Security Centre (PDSC).

With 65,000 cyber security attacks on UK SMEs daily, and 41% of UK consumers claiming they will never return to a business that has had a security breach, investing in cyber security has never been more important.

With this ever increasing threat to SMEs, who often struggle to find the expertise and funding to implement effective cyber security, the PDSC developed the Digital Security Provider certification scheme in collaboration with BSI (British Standards Institution). The scheme helps SMEs make informed decisions when choosing a vendor and promotes vendors who take time to understand their customers and deliver solutions that are tailored to their needs.

As part of their certification, Cyber Risk Aware underwent a robust accreditation process and were able to demonstrate that they had taken the necessary security steps to instill confidence in their product and supply chain, as well as demonstrating that they help end users choose effective and appropriate cyber security solutions. The certification recognises that Cyber Risk Aware can provide solutions in the field of digital security which genuinely solve their clients’ problems.

Cheyne Marley, Cyber Development Officer at the Police Digital Security Centre, said: “Stephen and his team at Cyber Risk Aware have a strong background in accreditation and their acknowledgement that trust is seen as a vital component in any cyber product or service bears testament to their company ethos. We look forward to working with Stephen and his team going forward”.

“We are thrilled and honoured to be partnering with PDSC, promoting to over 5 million SME’s to implement a highly effective pre-breach cyber security solution that instantly raises staff awareness that prevents a costly cyber incident from happening in the first place.” said Stephen Burke, CEO of Cyber Risk Aware.

“The PDSC and Cyber Risk Aware are also working together in producing Cyber Insurance Guidelines for the SME sector across the UK. The intention being to make this easy to understand and simple to obtain based on relevant risks and appropriate cover for SME’s. Helping SME’s protect their business through education of “relevant” risk, appropriate controls and insurance, when cybercrime is at an all-time high, is a massive opportunity to make a real difference.” said Burke, “Use of our pre-breach service to prevent cyber incidents is paramount first and foremost, but with cyber insurance you have the support during an incident when needed the most.”

Cyber Risk Aware, is a GCHQ accredited, award-winning Cyber Security Awareness Specialist provider of the world’s first “Real-Time” Behaviour-Driven Security Awareness Training, Cyber Knowledge Assessment, Phishing and SMiShing threat simulations.

As well as law enforcement, the PDSC works in partnership with industry, government and academia in support of the Government’s ambition to make the UK one of the safest places to do business online.

The PDSC is focused on helping SMEs reduce their vulnerability to cyber-crime and fraud by raising awareness about the most common types of cyber-crime and the simple steps they can take to protect themselves. All advice and guidance is consistent with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
